Tiger Tuesday Food Services

It’s Tiger Tuesday and this week we are celebrating Food Services

Our appreciation goes out to all of our amazing Food Service personnel who support the WCS mission in such a tangible way by feeding our children so that they can spend their day equipped to learn, be inspired, apply knowledge, dream big, and enrich the lives of others. Thank you to all who serve our families through their work in Food Service leadership, office, accounting, and in our kitchens and cafeterias.

And here are a few words from Shannon Dellinger, CDM/CFPP,  Assistant Director of Food Services, “Committed, compassionate, inspiring, and invincible are just a few of the words I would use to describe the wonderful people who make up our food service department. Like everyone else, navigating through the pandemic presented many challenges. These challenges were handled with grace and perseverance, making sure that every student in our district did not go hungry. While taking the time to recognize the department as a whole there are a few team members who have dedicated many years to feed our students. Some of these team members include Evelyn Alberston (Madison) with 40+ years, Brenda Martinez (WCHS) with 27 years, Teresa Helm (Edgewood) with 26 years, and Sue Pelz (WCHS) with 21 years of service.” Congratulations and a HUGE thank you to these incredible people!

Shannon goes on to advocate for her department, “The Food Service department currently has 65 team members and we are looking to add many more to our roster. We have multiple positions that need to be filled at various locations. These positions range from cafeteria managers to cashiers and offer a flexible schedule that can’t be beaten. We are currently offering a referral bonus of $100.00 to current district employees and will have some open interviewing dates coming in June. We offer onsite training as well as developmental training throughout the school year. Qualifying team members who complete their developmental training also receive a stipend of $1,000.00 that is paid out in December. If you enjoy developing relationships that last a lifetime, flexible schedules and interacting with amazing children every day then a job in Food Service may be right for you.”

Food Services will be hosting WALK-IN Interviews on Tuesday, April 26th from 9-11 am and 12-2 pm at Central Office. wcsjobs.com
