WCHS Sources of Strength (SOS) made a huge impact on Thursday, February 24, 2022 with the help of community partner Anderson Florist Greenhouse on Detroit Street. With a very generous discount, SOS was able to give away 600 beautiful flowers as an act of kindness. It was a wonderful surprise when two SOS students made an announcement at the close of the day. Students at multiple exits were greeted and offered a beautiful stem.
Smiles and laughter filled the hallways. Students could be heard telling friends how much it meant to get this gift.
Some went back to classrooms to give their flower to a special teacher.
Many went home and gave the flower to a family member or friend. On one Facebook Post, a parent wrote, "Q came home from school and told me they were giving these away at school. So he got one for me because I show him how much I love him every day and he wanted to show me how much he loved me."
