Academic Spotlight: Welcome Back, Officer Lewis Fuller

Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert and the Board of School Trustees were pleased to officially welcome Officer Lewis Fuller back to the Warsaw Police Department and to his new role as the fifth School Resource Officer for Warsaw Community Schools.

Previously serving as the SRO at Lakeview Middle School, Officer Fuller will now focus on supporting the district’s elementary schools within city limits (Harrison, Lincoln, Washington, and Eisenhower). He took the oath of office on July 18 alongside Mayor Jeff Grose and Chief Scott Whitaker. Officer Fuller shared that his transition back has been smooth and that he has felt incredibly welcomed. His return reinforces the district’s ongoing commitment to safety, connection, and fostering strong relationships between law enforcement and our schools.

Community & Economic Development Update: Warsaw TIF Districts

Jeremy Skinner, Community & Economic Development Director, provided a brief update on Warsaw’s Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts. He noted that the primary purpose of the residential TIF is to increase housing opportunities, with multiple single-family, multi-family, and affordable housing projects in development. The Board also received an overview of current and upcoming infrastructure projects funded through TIF revenue.

Financial & Facilities Update: Policies, Reports, and Capital Planning

Chief Financial Officer Steven Boyer presented proposed Spring 2025 policy updates for Board consideration and summarized the August 2025 financial reports.

He also reviewed the Performance Services, Inc. (PSI) Guaranteed Savings Proposal for Contract, which identified 175 potential solutions across the district — many concentrated at Lakeview Middle School. These recommended repairs and replacements would be implemented in two phases and include:

  • Structural repairs

  • Installation of a mezzanine for mechanical units

  • Reroofing projects

  • Classroom renovations

This phased approach aims to enhance energy efficiency, improve building longevity, and create updated learning environments for students and staff.
