Today we shine a spotlight on Mrs. Kaitlyn Terpstra, who joined the Jefferson staff in February 2021 as our front desk receptionist and attendance secretary. Mrs. Terpstra has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Sociology from Grace College. After graduation in 2008, she worked at a home for children in the Philippines for a year and then went on to work in rehabilitation services at the Bowen Center in Syracuse. In 2013 she left that position to stay home with her children.
Mrs. Terpstra is married to Jim and has two little Spartans: Connor (2nd) and Madison (Kindergarten).
When asked about why she is passionate about working with children, Mrs. Terpstra said, "In all my previous jobs, I have worked with school-aged kids and love the relationships I have built within the school systems. When it was time to head back to work, looking for a job in Jefferson was the obvious choice for me. I love pouring into students' lives and the opportunities to get to know their families. I am so excited to start my first full school year with the Jefferson family!"
In her free time, Mrs. Terpstra enjoys photography and DIY projects.
