Mrs. Lauren Harbison

Returning to Jefferson this year is Mrs. Lauren Harbison in the role of Title I Interventionist. She graduated with honors from Indiana State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Harbison began her teaching career in January of 2010. She has been a Reading Specialist for the majority of her career, but she has also taught English Language Learners, Special Education, and 3rd Grade. Before moving to Jefferson in 2016, Mrs. Harbison taught in Wabash County.

Mrs. Harbison and her husband, Kyle, have three daughters: Lucy, Molly, and Navy. Lucy (2nd) and Molly (Kindergarten) are also Spartans and are looking forward to the school year, just as much as their mother is. Kyle Harbison is a biomedical engineer and works for a local orthopedic company.

In her free time, Mrs. Harbison enjoys walking the trails in Winona Lake, gardening, cooking/ baking, riding her bike, and DIY projects.

When asked about why she is passionate about education, Mrs. Harbison said, "What I love most about working with the students at Jefferson is what I learn from them. I am certain I learn just as much from them as they do from me. Jefferson is full of leaders, creative thinkers, and problem-solvers. I can't wait to watch them change the world!"

We are so happy to welcome Mrs. Harbison back to the halls of Jefferson!
