WARSAW, IN - Warsaw Community Schools (WCS) kicked off the 2025-26 school year with energy, connection and purpose at a district-wide staff celebration centered around the theme for the year, #WarsawUnites.

The morning began with breakfast for all staff and a Health & Wellness Fair featuring over 15 community partners. Staff also received their new Tiger Tuesday shirts (sponsored by Everwise) to wear throughout the year on designated Tuesdays, an initiative designed to recognize staff, students and community members who contribute to the spirit of unity across WCS.

Following breakfast, over 1,000 WCS employees gathered in the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center for the official kickoff program. The event opened with a music slideshow reflecting the year’s theme, followed by a Presentation of Colors by the JROTC and live music from the WCHS Band.

Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert welcomed staff and introduced Heather Reichenbach, School Board President, who offered remarks on behalf of the board. Principals and directors brought the energy as they introduced their schools and departments in fun and creative ways. Dr. Hoffert also reflected on the previous school year and recognized the impact of WCS staff, students and community partners.

Keynote speaker, Scott Greene, delivered a message that challenged staff to lead with intention and unity, setting the tone for the year ahead. Aimee Lunsford, Chief Academic Officer, closed the event with words of encouragement before dismissing staff outside for a district-wide group photo in front of WCHS, captured by DreamOn Studios.

Warsaw Community Schools is incredibly grateful to the community partners who contributed to the opening day celebration and continue to support WCS throughout the year, including EverWise Credit Union, Lutheran Health Network, DreamOn Studios, Zimmer Biomet, SYM Financial Advisors, and many more.

Dr. Hoffert shared, “We are grateful for incredible students, teachers, staff, parents and community. Our opening day provides an opportunity to unite (which is also part of our 2025-26 theme of #WarsawUnites) our Warsaw Community Schools team together in celebration of the upcoming school year. We are excited to make the 181st year of public education in the Warsaw Community, the best one yet!”
