Welcome to the Jefferson Elementary School Website. It is my honor and privilege to welcome you to our school. As the principal, I am very proud of the accomplishments of our students, staff, and school community.
As a school, we pride ourselves in creating a warm, safe learning environment for all students. Our school staff work from day one to create powerful, lasting relationships with students and families. Through building these relationships, student learning needs and styles are identified and trust is established thus opening the door for learning to take place. Students feel safe to explore learning opportunities, take risks, and ask questions if they struggle.
Jefferson Elementary School recently received STEM school certification from the Indiana Department of Education. This means the school excels at integrating science, technology, engineering, and math into the Warsaw Community School’s core curriculum. Throughout the school year, students will integrate STEM into a variety of real-world projects and/or problems. Our school currently focuses on the pillars of lakes and streams and green energy. In addition to our focus on STEM, Jefferson Elementary employs a balanced literacy approach to language arts instruction. Teachers work hard to meet students at their instructional level.
Our school also takes pride in developing the characteristics of integrity, kindness, perseverance, and self-control in all of our students. This is integrated into our morning meetings, weekly gatherings, family group activities, and daily classroom instruction. We see these as critical characteristics to develop as we work to meet the Warsaw Community School’s mission of helping our students to pursue their dreams and enrich the lives of others.
Learning requires a commitment of a large school community. I’m proud to say that in combination with an outstanding school staff, community partnerships with local businesses and organizations, utilizing students and staff from neighboring Grace College, we are able maximize opportunities for our students. Parents play a critical role in this process as well. We want to thank our parents for continuing the educational process at home as well. Through our larger School community, we will continue to create outstanding opportunities for our students and work collaboratively to meet the challenges of the future in innovative and exciting ways.
Thank you for trusting us with your most precious commodity. It is my honor to be your child’s principal. If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself or your child’s teacher. Lets go Spartans!
