At 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, all Warsaw Community Schools fifth grade students will have the opportunity to hear from Chicago Cubs Organization baseball player Chris Singleton at the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center.
Singleton will speak with students about overcoming hardship and heartbreak after losing his mother at the hands of a white supremacist. Singleton’s story inspired the nation and his city after he publicly forgave the man who murdered his mother stating “love is stronger than hate.”
We are very excited about this unique opportunity and encourage you to follow up with your child about the convocation!
Please note WCS students will be dismissed from school on Monday, Jan. 21, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
For calendar related questions, please see our most recent calendar at www.warsaw.k12.inus. Those interested are invited and encouraged to attend the annual CCMLK event that day to hear Singleton's story. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the program is scheduled to run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at the Manahan Orthopedic Capital Center on the Grace College campus.
