Our mission is to accelerate learning through the use of technology as we inspire and equip families, students and staff.
Thanks to all who have completed online registration!  For those of you who haven't please remember that on site registration is Wednesday from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday from 12:00 - 7:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  Please remember that any family that wishes to set up a payment plan for Textbook Rental Fees or wishes to pay in person needs to attend registration in person at the school your child will be attending.

Invoices have now been generated for all elementary students.  Invoices will not be generated until after the school year starts for students in grades 7 - 12 so that the appropriate fees may be assigned based on the student's final schedule.  Notices will go out when those invoices have been posted.

If you'd like to pay the Texbook Rental invoice for your elementary student electronically, please use Internet Explorer to go to the PowerSchool parent portal at  Log into your parent account and click on Book Fees towards the bottom of the menu on the left.  Once you do that, you should see the fees load and should have a button that says Make a Payment.  Ensure that pop-ups are disabled, and click the Make a Payment button.  You will then enter the payment amount and click submit.  Click on Billing, then add your credit card and billing information.  Then click review order and submit if everything looks correct.  You should receive a receipt to the email address you indicated and your student's balance should now reflect your payment.  If you have other students, you will need to click on their tabs at the top of the parent portal to repeat the process.

Parents may now purchase insurance for their child's device

Warsaw Community Schools has implemented a take home, 1:1 initiative for all students in grades 5-12.  Students in grades 5-8 have been using iPad Mini devices.  Students in grades 9-12 have been using iPad Air 2 devices.  WCS believes that technology can be used to accelerate learning in the classroom.

As we continue into the fourth year of our 1:1 program, we are committed to four major pillars.  First, technology is not a replacement of an educator or effective teaching.  It is an accelerator of these factors in the classroom.  Next, our focus will continue to be on learning, not on the device.  Additionally, we will ensure that the program is affordable for our community.  Finally we are committed to being flexible and constantly learning from our experiences.

You can see a video describing more about our 1:1 program here.  Keep in mind that Textbook Rental Rates and purchase/path to ownership options vary based on the grade level of the student.

Policies, forms, and information for our 1:1 program can also be found our document library here.

Looking for ways to support your student?  Here are some resources that will help keep you in the know!

Check your student's grades and attendance, update your contact preferences for delays and cancellations, register for next school year, and sign up for progress report emails on your student's academic progress as often as you'd like.  All of this is possible and more by logging into your PowerSchool Parent Portal.  If you need help getting started, call 574-371-5093 X2488 and ask for our PowerSchool team.  If you've already signed up for text notifications for delays and cancellations, make sure you text a Y to 67587 to opt in!

Sign up for a parent account and you can see all of your student's digitial assignments and coursework being turned in.  You can also set notifications so you can remind them of work that may be due soon.  Just click at the top of the page where it says, "Parent of a Canvas User? Click Here For an Account."  You'll need to know your student's id and password to set your account up.

Keeping kids safe in the digital age is a challenge.  This great site of resources will inspire and equip you to keep your student safe and help them use digital tools in a responsible manner.  Every week, we emphasize these skills during our digital learning special in grades K-6.

All of Warsaw Community Schools' library resources can be found under the Destiny link above.  Resources can be found under each school, or you can search for digital and print books in the Catalog.  Each school also has bookmarks with the usernames and passwords that allow them to use the research databases at home.

The Warsaw Community Public Library offers a free library card to all WCS students, regardless of which township they live in.  Once your student has their library card, they can check out materials for free and can even download digital text and audio books via the Overdrive app on an iPhone or iPad.  This is a great resource for our 1:1 students!
