b2ap3 thumbnail WCSWelcome from the WCS Technology Department
Our mission is to accelerate learning through the use of technology as we inspire and equip families, students and staff.
If your child is in grades 5-12, we urge you to consider purchasing insurance to cover any damages or theft of the student’s 1:1 device in order to protect your family from repairs and replacement costs of up to $314. Insurance must be purchased each year for each device, and may be purchased here. The deadline to purchase insurance is 9/17/2018 for the 2018-2019 school year.
There are many free or discounted services for families in our area.  Today, I'd like to highlight a few.

Warsaw Community Public Library
Free Student Library Card

From the

Library cards are free to students (5 years of age through college) students living in the Warsaw Community Schools service area. It doesn't matter if the student attends public school, private school, home schooled, or a college located in our school district. Parents/guardians proof of address will be verified that the student is living in the school district -- they no longer have to bring their student ID or a letter from the school administrator. If a student is attending the Warsaw Community School system while living outside the district, they present proof of current enrollment in the school (letter from the school administrator dated within the past 60 days, a school photo ID card, or the most current grade card). Cards are valid for one year and must be renewed annually.

This message is to share some important information regarding our 1:1 iPad Program at Warsaw Community Schools, e3 Tiger Tech.  First, this Friday, September 1, 2017 is the deadline to purchase iPad insurance for the 2017-2018 school year.  Insurance for each student device in grades 5-12 is strongly encouraged for all families and must be purchased each year.  It is a $0 deductible plan, so there are no costs to the parent if there is accidental damage to the iPad, or it is stolen or vandalized.  Costs for those without insurance can run hundreds of dollars per incident, so please consider making this purchase.  The web site to sign up for insurance is:  for more information, read the article here:

Next, we've recorded a video to tell you more about our 1:1 program.  For that video, click here:

Finally, this past summer, we hosted a community Internet safety night.  We had great presentations from national speaker, Kevin Honeycutt and the Indiana State Police.  You may view that video here:

It's our honor to serve you!  On behalf of the entire technology team, we hope that you have a great school year!

Families may now electronically apply for free or reduced meals by visiting the web site here.

Additionally, families may electronically deposit funds into student(s) meal accounts by visiting the web site here.

Finally, information regarding breakfast and meal charges has been attached to this article.  Please review this important information prior to the start of the school year.

Thanks to all who have completed online registration!  For those of you who haven't please remember that on site registration is Wednesday from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday from 12:00 - 7:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  Please remember that any family that wishes to set up a payment plan for Textbook Rental Fees or wishes to pay in person needs to attend registration in person at the school your child will be attending.

Invoices have now been generated for all elementary students.  Invoices will not be generated until after the school year starts for students in grades 7 - 12 so that the appropriate fees may be assigned based on the student's final schedule.  Notices will go out when those invoices have been posted.

If you'd like to pay the Texbook Rental invoice for your elementary student electronically, please use Internet Explorer to go to the PowerSchool parent portal at  Log into your parent account and click on Book Fees towards the bottom of the menu on the left.  Once you do that, you should see the fees load and should have a button that says Make a Payment.  Ensure that pop-ups are disabled, and click the Make a Payment button.  You will then enter the payment amount and click submit.  Click on Billing, then add your credit card and billing information.  Then click review order and submit if everything looks correct.  You should receive a receipt to the email address you indicated and your student's balance should now reflect your payment.  If you have other students, you will need to click on their tabs at the top of the parent portal to repeat the process.
